Mary Catherine Folmar is an Alabama native and creative entrepreneur based in Birmingham, Alabama. A graduate of Auburn University, she earned her degree in Industrial Design from the College of Architecture, Design & Construction, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Her strong foundation in design principles and craftsmanship continues to inform her refined, detail-driven aesthetic.

In 2012, Mary Catherine founded Cotton & Quill, where she serves as Owner and Chief Designer. What began as a collection of hand-illustrated textiles has grown into a distinctive lifestyle brand offering licensed home goods, wallcoverings, trims, and most recently, a line of sculptural topiary forms. Known for her thoughtful artistry and Southern sensibility, her work blends classic influences with fresh, imaginative design.

Through Cotton & Quill, Mary Catherine’s work has been featured in numerous shelter publications and prestigious showhouses. She is also a sought-after tastemaker, event speaker, and creative host, leading engaging workshops and classes that inspire others to cultivate beauty in their own spaces.
